Allie + David
Two rogue photographers, and founders of Death to the Stock Photo.
About the Founders
"About a year ago we noticed an less-than-awesome industry
pattern: too many extraordinary brands, bloggers, and creatives struggled to find images that fit their
vibe + tribe.
Turns out, the solution lay on our laptops. We had files upon files of our own photos gathering dust. We figured: why not spread ‘em around? So we started sending image packs directly to friends, writers, artists, freelancers, and businesses via email. The goal? To help more brands create rich digital experiences that elevated their visual aesthetic… without shelling out wads of cash, or their sanity. And the response. was. massive.

As our members list grew, so did our vision. We built some digital digs. A 5-city road-trip happened. We began to include stories with our image packs, so our users would know they came from the heart. We kicked off a premium membership option with total access to 400 photos and counting.
And there is so, so much more to come."
[about the founders is quoted from the death to stock website] http://deathtothestockphoto.com/about/
Stumbling upon this website while looking for useful imagery, I was immediately attracted to the simplistic layout of the site. Over the years through experience I have discovered that a lot of “stock” websites have a specific feel and look compared to Death to Stock. Death to Stock has a very modern simplistic design while most others tend to be cluttered with content.
The website offers a free and premium option the free option gives very limited access to users; Using the free option gives you 10 free pre selected images via email. The pictures a fairly high quality and “modern” feel. (see below). Alternatively, users can sign up for a premium option that grants access to the websites archives.
For the sake of reporting, I have signed up for the free option and will be receiving images monthly, judging by the quality of the first batch I might be intrigued to go for the premium option in the near future.
